To make the most of your race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, here are some practical tips to help you stay comfortable, prepared, and focused on the action:

Food and drink

Guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages to the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, which can save money and ensure you have your favorite snacks on hand. If you’d rather travel light, Bristol offers a wide variety of food and drink options inside the venue – from burgers, barbecue, and pizza to fries, soft drinks, and cold beer. Water fountains are located throughout the concourse areas.

While the Speedway generally allows outside food and beverages, be sure to review the latest official guidelines before race day. Large coolers and all-glass containers are prohibited, so opt for smaller, easy-to-carry items. Security screening is in place at every entry point, so plan for a short wait and have your bags ready for inspection.

Communication

Before you arrive, save important information to your phone – such as your tickets, track maps, and driver lineups. Mobile service can slow down during big events, especially on race day, so don’t rely solely on data connections. If you’re meeting friends or family, set a specific meeting spot and time ahead of time in case you get separated.

Noise

Bristol is famous for being one of the loudest tracks in NASCAR, thanks to the stadium-style grandstands and steeply banked half-mile oval. Earplugs are strongly recommended for all fans, and proper hearing protection is essential for children.

Weather

September in Bristol is generally warm and pleasant, with afternoon highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s°F (25–29°C) and cooler evenings in the low to mid-60s°F (16–19°C). While it’s less humid than summer, light rain or an isolated thunderstorm is still possible, so packing a light rain poncho is a good idea.
