RULES FOR VISITORS

As with any NASCAR event, fans attending the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway are expected to follow the rules and guidelines set by the organizers. Security staff are there to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

Prohibited items

For everyone’s safety, certain items are not allowed inside the Speedway. Anything that could cause harm, disrupt the event, or create a hazard to others is strictly forbidden. This also includes merchandise or tickets intended for resale. All guests will go through a security screening at the gates, and anyone who refuses may be denied entry without a refund. Be sure to review Bristol Motor Speedway’s official prohibited items list before you arrive so there are no surprises at the entrance.

The following list is not exhaustive but highlights the most commonly restricted items:

  • Aerosol cans – Except sunscreen, sunblock, hand sanitizer, and bug spray.
  • Bags – Larger than 18" x 18" x 14".
  • Beer balls, beer bongs, and funnels.
  • Bicycles, hoverboards, roller blades, roller skates, Segways, and skateboards.
  • Chairs – Collapsible chairs of any kind.
  • Confederate flags – In any form (flags, apparel, signs, or banners).
  • Coolers – Larger than 14" x 14" x 14", or any hard- or foam-sided cooler.
  • Dry ice.
  • Fires, fireworks, grills, and sky lanterns.
  • Glass or ceramic containers – Of any kind.
  • Golf carts or ATV-type vehicles – Without proper permits.
  • Helium balloons, beach balls, frisbees, or any other projectile items.
  • Illegal substances – Of any kind.
  • Knives – Longer than 3 inches when closed or longer than 6 inches when open.
  • Laser pointers, noisemakers, and air horns.
  • Obscene or indecent clothing.
  • Pets – Except service animals.
  • Radios – Without headsets.
  • Scaffolds and platforms.
  • Selfie sticks, tripods, and monopods.
  • Smoking – In the grandstands or suites (including e-cigarettes and vaping devices).
  • Stadium seats – Wider than 17 inches or with armrests.
  • Sticks – Of any kind, including flag poles and brooms.
  • Umbrellas.
  • Unmanned aerial vehicles or drones – Of any kind.
  • Utility tools – With a knife blade longer than 3 inches, ice picks, or similar tools.
  • Video cameras.
  • Wagons and carts.
  • Weapons – Of any kind, including firearms, knives exceeding allowed limits, and similar items, regardless of permits.

What you can bring

To make your visit to the Bass Pro Shops Night Race as smooth as possible, it’s best to pack light and stick to the essentials. Bring your phone, a portable charger, or spare batteries for cameras, some cash, and your tickets for each day you’re attending. A valid photo ID is required for adults and should also be carried for any children in your group. Packing only what you need will help you get through security faster and enjoy more time at the track.

The following items are permitted inside the event grounds:

  • Bags – Up to two bags per person through admission gates. Each bag must not exceed 18" x 18" x 14". One bag may be a cooler (maximum size 14" x 14" x 14").
  • Blankets and clothing – Extra layers or blankets for comfort during the event.
  • Cameras, binoculars, scanners, and headsets – For personal use only; must be small enough to be worn over the neck, belt, or carried in a bag.
  • Collapsible umbrella strollers – Permitted for guests with children; must not block aisles or seating areas.
  • Flags – Approved flags attached to a pencil-sized wooden stick; must not block another fan’s view.
  • Food and beverages – Pre-packaged food and drinks in a bag or soft-sided cooler, including alcoholic beverages. No glass containers permitted.
  • Hand sanitizer, sunscreen, and bug spray – Allowed in aerosol, gel, or liquid form.
  • Insulated cups – Up to 64-ounce capacity.
  • iPads, tablets, and laptop computers – Allowed for personal use.
  • Seat cushions – Without armrests.
  • Service animals – Permitted throughout the Speedway; must remain leashed or harnessed and under control at all times.
  • Small banners, signs, and flags – Within the permitted size limit (36" x 60").
