From exploring the Fan Zone and catching pre-race concerts to finding the best seats and avoiding the biggest crowds, planning ahead helps you get the most out of every moment. Whether you’re here to meet drivers, enjoy the on-track action, or soak up the atmosphere under the lights, these tips will help you have a smooth, memorable race day.

If meeting drivers is on your list, a little strategy goes a long way. Arrive early – drivers often take part in scheduled activities such as practice sessions, media events, or fan experiences before the main race. Being there when the gates open increases the likelihood of seeing them at autograph sessions, driver introductions, or in the Fan Zone – one of the best spots for fan interaction.

Follow the official schedule closely. NASCAR- and track-sanctioned fan events in the days leading up to the race often include autograph signings, pit tours, and meet-and-greets. The Bristol Motor Speedway Fan Zone frequently hosts driver appearances, so check the daily schedule and follow NASCAR or the track’s social media for last-minute updates.

Look out for special autograph opportunities. Some race teams or sponsors arrange exclusive signing sessions for ticket holders or fans at other weekend events. FanFest-style activities and sponsor booths may also feature drivers.

Know where to be and when. Garage and pit areas are generally off-limits to standard ticket holders, but with special access, you might see drivers moving between their haulers and the track. Even without that access, you can sometimes catch drivers walking through the Fan Zone on their way to the grid or paddock, and many will stop briefly for signatures if time allows.

Always bring something to sign. A program, cap, die-cast car, or photo works best. Smaller items are easier for quick autographs, especially in busy spots.

Be respectful. Race weekends are hectic for drivers, so don’t interrupt briefings, interviews, or conversations. Patience and good manners go a long way in making a positive impression.

Staying comfortable is key to enjoying the race. With big NASCAR crowds, anything you’re thinking of doing, thousands of others probably are too. Plan bathroom and food breaks during quieter moments rather than during cautions or before major restarts to avoid long waits.

When it comes to watching the race, check the grandstand guide to choose the best section for your preferred view – whether that’s close-up action, a wide panoramic perspective, or prime photo angles. Keep in mind that Bristol Motor Speedway is a large venue. Walking between sections can take time, especially with heavy crowds, so limit how often you move and allow extra time if you do.
